Today, do you feel like a beautiful “Tapestry or the Tattered Fabric”? How about recently in your life journey, where do you come out in this spectrum? When you are in the midst of broken glass or a heavy heart or what you perceive as ‘failure,’ how do you feel then down inside…the “Tapestry or the Tattered Fabric”? Who are you today…which one represents you in the spectrum…peeling all of your posing masks away and shredding them, what do you really believe in your heart about yourself today? To give us some context here on “Tapestry”…Tapestry, typically woven by hand on a vertical loom, is a form of textile art dating back to the 3rd century BC; it then became very popular in Europe during the 1300’s and 1400’s…in making a Tapestry, the weaver uses both warp and weft threads in the production process.
If you are facing difficulty ‘head on’ or a recent ‘brick wall’ experience, it runs against the grain of your nature and culture to believe and feel like God’s Tapestry at that given moment…but that is our reality, is it not? Think about it…when I screw up…really mess up…really blow it, which is often…and I am sitting in the quietness of my home with God reflecting, talking and listening to Him…my first instinct is to think, feel and believe I am the “Tattered Fabric”…but, then He invades that false sense of reality…He comes and He reminds me in the quiet spaces of my heart His timeless truths…I am God’s Tapestry…beautifully and perfectly woven together…everything…EVERYTHING that happens in my life has God’s fingerprints, handprints, and heart stamped upon it as it becomes “Warp & Weft Threads” for His intricate, loving, and delicate “Weaving” of my life into His Tapestry, thread by thread, weave by weave, stitch by stitch…He has a perfect plan, purpose, and path for everything that happens to me…all the pieces of His “Tapestry” with my life. This is “You” too…this is the painting of your life today as well…when you have ‘let go’ of your agenda, and your plans, and your expectations, and your desires, and your dreams, and your life and laid them in complete surrender to your Father…God is then in an intimate, loving, crazy about you head over heels forever Love Relationship with “You”…and He will use “EVERYTHING” that happens as a ‘warp or weft thread’…or a ‘weave’…or a ’stitch’ to assemble, make, and build His “Tapestry” with your life…a Masterpiece…His Masterpiece with YOU…that is “You” today!

Did you catch that? “You’re turning the tattered fabric of my life into a perfect Tapestry”…that is the essence of what our Father is doing with you and me today…He has His hands all over you weaving, stitching, and threading His Tapestry with your life…redeeming and using “EVERYTHING” from your life, both the successes and the so-called failures…You are His Tapestry. Is that how you feel today? Do you really deep down inside think of yourself as God’s perfect “Tapestry or the Tattered Fabric”? Be further encouraged today by what the Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 2:10 (NLT), “For we (you) are God’s Masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” And then again what Paul says in Philippians 1:6 (NLT), “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” So, You…You are His Masterpiece…His Tapestry Masterpiece…and He will continue weaving, stitching on your life until “It is finally Finished”…rest confidently and securely in this Hug of Hope from your Father today…we love you, Father and desperately need You to shatter our false sense of reality with the true Reality of Your Masterpiece Tapestry in, with, and through our lives today…this is your Reality for us today, Father…Amen.
